CollapseDescription

I have responsible for pre- and post-award grant activity, and handled all aspects of grants administration, for all medical departments, at a large, academic medical center in New York City. This included NIH (RO1, R03, R21 and K08 mechanisms) New York State and CDC submissions, industry sponsored clinical trials and foundation support for clinical and epidemiologic research. I also served as the Administrator for the NIH ClinicalTrials.gov registry, and SPIN/InfoEd Administrator. In both positions, I also prepare budgets and budget justifications for industry-sponsored clinical trials as well as federal, state and city budgets for research and service grants But my most fulfilling, and intellectually challenging work has been researching and writing grant proposals. Though not part of my official job description, at Beth Israel I was fortunate to be allowed the freedom to pursue grants for the Department of Social Work, the Peter Kruger Clinic (HIV/AIDS Clinic) and the Cancer Center. Some successful grants I?ve authored, or co-authored include applications to the New York State Crime Victims? Board, New York State Department of Health and US Department of Justice - Office of Violence Against Women (for the Department of Social Work, Victim Services Program); amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research (for the Chemical Dependency Institute); the Susan G. Komen Foundation, New York Community Trust, Office of the Manhattan Borough President and the New York State Cancer Services Program (for Continuum Cancer Centers of New York). I would like very much to continue this very fulfilling work.
