PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY * Incredibly hardworking and dedicated employee who works well both independently as well as part of a team. I am seeking position in a challenging and rewarding tech environment where I can expand upon my existing skill base while contributing to a lively IT team. * Detail oriented Information Systems professional with an 11-year background in system administration, hardware and software troubleshooting and network management for the federal government including the Postal Inspection Service and for internal and external clients ranging from executives to end-users. Personable team player offering advanced technical knowledge and a can-do attitude, while excelling at identifying and solving technical issues. Experience in Telecommunications with a background in telephony and data systems with strengths including installing, troubleshooting PBX's, telephony protocols, voicemail systems, cabling, hardware, software, and pc networking. I designed SharePoint master pages and page layouts, and served as company's main SharePoint administrator. Followed internal procedures for change management, incident management and escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate level. * I received my AAS degree in Network Administration and continue to keep updated on my computer hardware and software skills. I am proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook). My education and experience gives me the advantage as I am able to learn new computer systems with an ease and am more prepared for technology based projects. I utilized Remedy/Service Now and have worked closely with Change Request tickets and Help Desk tickets, AIMS inventory management and PRIME printer tracker. I coordinated the PRIME printer device project which eliminated most local printers in the District office, NDC, Cedar Rapids, Milan, Moline, Davenport, Waterloo and the DSM Plant which saved over $100,000.00 for the Hawkeye District. The Hawkeye District has over 900 Post Offices, 4 Processing Plants, 1 Network Distribution Center, over 2,939 desktop computers, 412 laptop computers, 118 mobile devices, and over 6,728 employees. There was 1 IT Manager and 3 Information System Specialists. * I purchased all equipment related to the Information Technology department through the eBuy2 system and reconciled the credit card for myself and my IT Manager on a monthly basis. I also paid all of the District phone bills on a monthly basis for the Hawkeye District through My Telco Manager. I worked closely with one of the other ISS' to review and reduce phone lines by over 500 lines throughout the Hawkeye District saving the USPS over $150,000 per year. * During my detail as Information Systems Specialist (ISS), I was frequently called upon to care for emergency situations that include computer hardware, software, and District telecommunication systems. As an Acting Information Specialist, it was my responsibility to ensure the security and integrity of the computer and network systems for the entire district. I was structured to assist the Postal Inspection Service with any computer, network or printing issues they may have as I have security clearance to examine their issues. During my time as ISS, my responsibilities included supporting all end users in the Hawkeye District with a wide range of issues to include hardware failures, software issues, and network problems. I supported the ACE 3 migration project I was in charge of laptop upgrades and support. My duties also included analyzing different scenarios regarding potential computer peripheral options for end users making recommendations based on users' needs and company governance. I coordinated the replacement of batteries in the UPS (uninterrupted power supply) at the District office in the network closets to insure the network switches wouldn't lose power in case of a power outage. * I have trained Postmasters during monthly training sessions that were held in Des Moines and the Quad Cities that did not have sufficient computer knowledge to complete their daily duties. I have written technical step-by-step instructions for applications that have been used throughout the Hawkeye District. My strong computer networking background includes maintenance and administration of computer and network systems as well as hardware, software, and operating system installation and configuration. I have superior skills in communication and customer service and am able to work with end users to identify and resolve technical issues. I supported more than 75 end users in the District building and perform a wide range of computer and printer repairs, maintenance, and upgrades. As acting ISS, I frequently had to use patience, self-discipline and gallantry while talking customers through their computer problems. Many times employees are extremely frustrated with their computer when it is not functioning the way they think it should be so I have to use my personality and self-control to calm them down while I am evaluating their situation.
