National leader in urban school districts and major technology and education sales corporations. Leadership and consulting experience includes serving as CEO of Collaborative Learning and the Center for College and Career Success (47 states) management and direction at the corporate university and school district level in: public-private partnerships the development operation supervision and evaluation of the operation of finance (finance budget payroll purchasing accounts payable school design and construction capital improvement accounts receivable personnel information technology human resources management and record retention) capital projects operations academic curricula instruction security technology acquisitions and integration policy nutrition services and strategic leadership management of all schools and school leaders for the improvement of student achievement and the enhancement of college and career success for all students. Major Accomplishments * Directed and led Norfolk' $123M school construction under the PPEA (Public Private Educational Facilities Infrastructure Act). Currently leading efforts for the design and construction of five schools in the City of Norfolk through the PPEA. 2014 * Originated the concept and led the development and successful implementation of the first Open Campus in the State of Virginia -The Norfolk Public School's Open Campus-A Magic Johnson Bridgescape Academy. Designed the programmatic, operational infrastructure with performance outcomes to provide high school diplomas, career certifications and dual enrollment courses for students who are: in middle school and are over age for grade, in high school behind on five or more credits, and students who have dropped out of high school. Partners include Magic Johnson Foundation, Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University, Virginia State University, West Point Academy, Virginia Ship Repair, United Way, and Norfolk Housing Redevelopment Authority and Opportunity Inc. (2014) * Appointed to the Commission for the Reduction of Poverty for the City of Norfolk by Mayor Fraim. Developed a strategy to decrease the level of poverty in the City of Norfolk. (2014) * Awarded The Living Legends of Hampton Roads Award with the success of excellence and achievement award for outstanding commitment and dedicated service to the Norfolk community. (2014) * Recognized on the floor of the VA House and Senate for the origination, development, and successful implementation of the first statewide public housing initiative, The Virginia Stem Innovation Network. This initiative took robotics, engineering, math, and droids training and student competitive events into public housing in Norfolk, Richmond, Hampton, Petersburg, and Henrico public housing communities. NRHA and other housing authorities were positioned for the first time to take the lead in improving the quality of education for students and families who live in public housing. Collaborations include the selection of the STEM scholars and community based STEM competitions in collaboration with West Point Academy. Norfolk students won first place in local and national competitions. Educators and students trained at West Point Naval Academy in New York and Old Dominion University. (2014) * Led governmental affairs initiatives for Norfolk Public Schools in collaboration with the City of Norfolk. State legislative presenter for Virginia Municipal League conferences, and the Virginia Legislature. (2014) * Keynote speaker for the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice Fall Conference. (2013) * Initiated NPS' first "shared services" with City governance in: school construction, personnel, technology infrastructure, finance, and emergency management. This collaboration provided cost savings for both the City and the district. (2014) * Leveraged the first technology based accountability system to monitor student and classroom results aligned to Virginia Successfully 3 * National Director Education Solutions & Accountability, TCI/w ETC Telecommunications, Inc., Launched satellite-based professional development in school districts throughout the Nation implemented the $37M contract to outsource the entire Information Technology department for Dayton Public Schools implement a new PeopleSoft Personnel System and district wide Accountability System (1996 - 1999)
