My name is Nancy Proano Wise and I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After graduating from Nova Southeastern School of Dental Medicine in 2007, I worked in Miami as a general dentist for 5 years. After much consideration, I decided to pursue a career in orthodontics. In December, 2015 I will be graduating from the orthodontics program at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating, I will have completed a one year orthodontic and TMD internship followed by a two and half year orthodontic residency. I will have a certification in orthodontics and a masters of science in orthodontics. The Seton Hill Orthodontic residency is a stand-alone program, functioning much like a private practice. Our program spends numerous hours devoted to teaching practice management to make our transition to the profession work force easier. Also, many of our faculty members are currently in private practice. They share their current knowledge and struggles with the residents on a daily basis. At Seton Hill, each faculty member is allowed to use his or her own treatment philosophy. I have been privileged to use numerous brackets systems, prescriptions, functional appliances, TSADS, soft tissue laser therapy, and up to date software programs. I have also participated in several interdisciplinary cases involving implant treatment, crown restorations, esthetic buildups, and surgical corrections. I have focused my clinical training on preparing me for a smooth transition in the private practice of orthodontics. In addition to my professional life, I also enjoy spending quality time with my two children and husband. We are eager to return back to the warm Florida weather. I am currently searching for a practice opportunity. I am eager to improve my skills as a clinician while working to grow a practice. I am an outgoing person and I will be able to use my communication skills to educate the community and inform them of the services available through this practice.
