PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY Licensed Practical Nurse * Highly skilled career professional with 30 years of practical experience in hospital, emergency room, long term care facilities, hospice and home health care environments. * Perform wound care and consult with doctors and other wound care professionals regarding use of latest techniques as well as teaching family members and co-workers in use of same. * Proficient in all forms of medication administration including but not limited to inhalation, oral, injection, gtube/jtube * Insert and maintain indwelling catheters * Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection methods. * Provide personal care for many patients with all stages of disease including, but not limited to, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and AIDS. * Routinely counsel patients and their families for end of life, grief and bereavement, sexual abuse and mental disturbance. * Experienced in shift scheduling for both on premise and home health staff in addition to screening patient intake and referrals * Installing and teaching use of telemoitoring systems in patient home.
