I have a background as a research scientist in the field of physiology and neuroscience, receiving my PhD from the School Medicine at the University of Queensland. During my studies I became interested in Complementary Medicine, and have trained in both Kinesiology and Herbal Medicine. I currently sit on the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) research committee, where I contribute to the generation of new research activities for complementary medicine. I have previously held an Honorary Research fellowship at the Australian Catholic Univeristy, which examined the treatment of chronic health conditions in complementary medicine. I have a keen interested in both the educational and research areas of Integrative Medicine, and have listed my interests below: • Curriculum development in Integrative Medicine (both online and face to face) • Practice of Western Herbal medicine and its integration in with mainstream medicine • Application of Herbal medicine in complex reproductive conditions such as endometriosis (paper to be published at ATMS journal, and can be view in March 2015), PCOS, fibroids and endometrial cancer • Treatment of mental health conditions with herbal medicines and kinesiology to improve quality of life. I would be interested in participating in any areas that help raise the profile of complementary medicine and its benefits in chronic health conditions.
