My professional background includes 22 years of experience in applied biomedical research and program management. These include 12 years in the military as a biomedical science officer leading and supervising team members, advising senior leadership on personalized (genomics-based) medicine and designing molecular diagnostic assays against pathogens of operational significance. Throughout both, my post-doctoral fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center and my active duty career, I have gained significant real-world experience in clinical research, leadership, program management and emergency preparedness.
