Description
I would like to apply for the Scientist position in your research group. I am currently a Research Scientist in Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine. I have around twelve years of extensive research experience in the field of cell and molecular biology. Currently, I am working on a renal tissue regeneration project, wherein my work involves development of renal ischemia animal models, biomaterials and tissue engineering approaches for building functional renal units for transplantation, and characterization of human amniotic stem cells for use in cell therapy approaches for treatment of chronic kidney disease. I have also worked on mitochondrial dysfunction and its role in age-related infertility. I have significant experience in development of lentiviral constructs, production and purification of lentivirus, study of their effects on human islets, and reconstitution of bone marrow using lentivirus/retrovirus for in-vivo tracking of cellular anti-tumor immune responses using different imaging techniques. I have also worked on understanding immune responses to DNA molecules and HIV/DNA vaccine with flagellin introduced at the cervical and vaginal mucosa in mice, and detection and regulation of beta cell reactive CD4 T cell function in Type 1 diabetic patients and their relatives by soluble, dimeric HLA-DR4/ peptide chimeras. I am looking for new challenges in my career, preferably in a translational research field. I have expertise in planning and managing experiments, developing animal models, and writing grants. I am equally comfortable working independently and as part of large inter-disciplinary collaborative research teams. I believe that my expertise in the field of regenerative medicine would be a valuable addition to your research group, especially to the ongoing preclinical studies. Please find attached my resume for consideration for this position. I would be happy to provide you with further details of my background if required. Thank you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
