My professional experience has allowed me the opportunity to work in socially and economically diverse communities as an assistant, associate, turnaround and principal at the middle and high school levels. I have worked with students, as well as, supervised Instructional Leaders of the special needs population as a building principal while assisting them with adhering to students’ individual educational plans (IEPs). My educational training and 23 years of administrative experience, has allowed me the opportunity to perfect my skills in: developing and accessing curriculum and instruction; recruiting, supervising and evaluating staff; providing staff development, retaining and dismissing employees. I am accustom to working in a data driven organization and utilizing that data as an integral part of the decision-making process to improve student learning and achievement. The development and implemented of school improvement plans along with improving Prairie State Achievement Exams (PSAE) scores are among my extensive administrative experiences. While managing and performing these tasks, I have improved and maintained a positive learning environment while addressing an ongoing program on how to improve school climate. My solid working knowledge of RTI (Response to Intervention) under NCLB has expanded my usage of RTI in a total academic program (not limited to the special needs population). I have vast experience in managing a high school budget and encouraging parents to be more involved in their child’s school academic program. These experiences make me a highly qualified candidate for the administrative positions of: Building Principal, Asst./Assoc. Principal, Asst. Superintendent of Curriculum, Asst. Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Asst. Superintendent of Pupil Services, Asst. and/or Superintendent of Human Resources.
