I am a senior agricultural development specialist with more than 30 years of experience managing and implementing agricultural research and development projects throughout East Africa, with a focus on Ethiopia. I have served as Director of Agricultural Research and Training Project under the Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization, funded by the World Bank in which I played a critical role in the design of the initial project concept, which sought to restructure Ethiopia’s national agricultural research system. I have worked closely with government offices and research agencies to gain consensus on the modernization of the country’s research capacity.I have also conducted numerous agricultural development consultancies for governments and donor organizations, including USAID, World Bank, UN, and FAO.
