Agrobacterium researcher-plant molecular and transformation scientist with 10 years of post-Ph.D. experience in academia and industry combined

I'm a crop scientist with over 10 years of hands on research experience and success in Agrobacterium -plant interaction, crop genetic engineering, plant molecular biology and molecular plant-pathology. 3 years of experience in an industrial agricultural biotechnology setting, working in both internal/external projects and with stakeholders to achieve company-wide goals. Extensive experience in design of robust gene cloning strategies by conventional and gateway methods for plant transformation vector construction. Expertise in plant genetic engineering via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation & biolistics, molecular analysis of transgenic plants, event selection, adventitious DNA testing, zygosity determination with proficiency in analyzing and interpreting research results and technical data. Proven hands on experience in PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, site-directed mutagenesis, DNA, RNA, protein isolation, Southern, northern and western blots, ELISA, protein over-expression and purification, microarray, RNAi and Virus-Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS). Strong knowledge and hands on skills in determining copy number of T-DNA in transgenic plant events by qPCR, Southern blot using right border and left border junction probes.
