Description
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS My nursing career has become one of the biggest highlights of my life. The path though has not been without struggle. I entered the workforce as a CNA and single mother. I then advanced to LVN while raising three children and working full time. I received my RN license after moving to California from Connecticut. I was also married that same year and beat breast cancer. Despite the curves on my path, then and now, I remain determined, positive, and upbeat. I've practiced clinically on med surg floors, in the ER, hospice/ HIV units, locked psychiatric unit, and float pool. During my last year at the acute care hospital, I enjoyed the locked psychiatric unit. I then furthered my education and obtained my administrators license. I opened an RCFE, P.S. Lambda House. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and with my teaching certificate taught LVN classes both theory and clinical at Goodwin College in Connecticut and CNA, CHHA, and LVN classes at California Nurses Educational Institute in Cathedral City, California. I opened Desert Home Care and continue to teach and provide ongoing education, CEU's, and in services where/when needed. My interests are varied and I'm a quick learner. I would embrace the opportunity to demonstrate my abilities.
