Description
As a Registered Nurse, I have worked on a Oncology/Hematology unit in a hospital setting. I utilized the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the perceived, actual or potential, physical or psychological problems that may result from anesthetic agents and techniques, as well as varied surgical procedures and chemotherapy treatment. Continuously teaching about what I'm doing, while I'm doing the patient's care and give encouragement and support to the patient and address family procedures and techniques, chemotherapy treatment providing coordination of care and services. Explain expectations, goals, and side effects from anesthesia and chemotherapy. Give specific and generalized instructions regarding post procedure activities and chemotherapy treatment. Instructing patients to be aware of additional signs/symptoms of post procedural complications and chemotherapy treatment such as: fever, chills, nausea, bleeding, numbness, tingling , any unfamiliar changes and to report these for further assessment and evaluation to the physician. Collaborate with physician in the coordinating of patient care plan and develop educational information to use post procedure and post chemotherapy for patient and family.
