Result: Enabled major improvements that removed the company from the FDA non-compliance list following the next general inspection. * Action: Enforced cGMP requirements of FIFO picking to ensure the company remained in compliance with FDA regulations. Implemented barcode labels and radio frequency (RF) terminals establishing real-time data collection for the warehouse. Result: Dramatically reduced physical inventory time and costs, improved inventory accuracy to 99%, and allowed order fulfillment within a 24-hour period. * Action: Identified items without a centralized computer perpetual inventory and poor identification. Created item classifications and unique item ID's and uploaded data from PCs merged costing files from PCs to the legacy system and implemented a tag controlled physical inventory system. Posted physical counts and wrote variance reports to compare by quantity and dollar amounts. Rolled out the physical approach to replace the perpetual one. Result: Reduced the time required to complete physical inventory from six months to two weeks. * Action: Served as the chairman of the National Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (NAPM) Price Subcommittee during the preparation of reports for the President's Healthcare Task Force. Led a group in determining whether prescription drug prices should be regulated as part of the national healthcare reform plan. Procured wholesale acquisition costs from a leading drug wholesaler and created pricing macros comparing brand versus generic drugs. Result: Contributed to preparing a proposal submitted to the task force at the lead of Hillary Rodham Clinton, which included a national formulary along with the recommendation that reimbursement for all federally funded programs be produced at the generic level to increase use of generic drugs. * Action: Introduced process improvements, customer and item classifications, and sales forecasting tools to enable sales analysis, improved inventory levels, and reduced turnaround time and backorders.
