CollapseDescription

Objective: To be part of a dynamic company where I can utilize my skills to meet the companies mission and vision Skills: As a Network Engineer I have spent many years of supporting the analysis, administration support, and design of wired and wireless networks to support voice, video, and data communications. I have developed and implemented Best Practices standards, procedures and processes for the troubleshooting, upgrading and repair of implementation and support of the responsible LAN/WAN technologies and Data Center networks using Cisco ASR, Catalyst and Nexus switches. I have created, implemented and supported some of the biggest Enterprise customers during my career. My optical designs for the Department of Information Technology of NY Backbone and redundant Data Center deployment. Plus my MPLS / Frame Relay designs for the State of Illinois and State of New Jersey are testament to my Wide Area and Local Area networks and experience. I have surveyed, designed and implemented Cisco Wireless technologies into hospitals, college campuses, business offices and warehouses. Surveyed dormitories of the main Univ. of Con. (UCONN) campus (over 20 multi-story buildings) and worked with customers installers to move Access Points (APs) for optimum coverage. Customer then contracted our team to finish main campus and multiple satellite sites. Another project was to survey a new AP deployment at over 20 California State Prisons (Onsite EMT triage via video and VoIP). Worked with customer to redesign AP placement to resolve coverage issues. I am very proud to part of the group that designed and installed a network on wheels to support the many venues of the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC. The network was built from scratch, which meant that we had to design and implement a network that supported the needs of the secret service, police and media with security being paramount. I have experience with Network security and performance which are key needs. For network authentication I have supported 802.1x, Radius and TACACS. For WAN and external customers needing remote access VPN and SSL are used. I have designed and implemented Network routing protocols typically used are BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and EIGRP. My experience with EIGRP was in supporting Proctor and Gamble. I was easier to design / support and faster to converge than OSPF in a large WAN environment. I have shrived in my career to be involved in new technologies which have always interested me. Anything that improves the network performance and /or reliability is worth investigating. I have had multiple occasions to research, test, implementing and supporting of MPLS, QoS support for Video, VoIP and Wireless technologies. Have experience with SNMP, SMTP, RTP, RTMP and NetFlow network monitoring. Given my extensive background working for Boeing Computer Services (IBM), MCI (Now Verizon) and my many years with Cisco Systems, I feel that I should be considered for this position. I am eager to contribute my abilities and experience to help your company meet its goals of providing superior support. I have a CCNA Cisco certification. Have passed CCIE written and studying for CCIE lab.
