I am working as a senior scientist at Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). FDEP is one of the most comprehensive state environmental agencies in the nation with regulatory oversight for protecting air, land and water resources in Florida. The agency cleans up pollution, regulates solid waste management, promotes pollution prevention and acquires environmentally sensitive lands for preservation. I also worked at Florida A & M University, college of Pharmacy where I actively engaged in synthesis of Chromones and tetrahydropyridine derivatives. I have talent in designing and carrying out any kind of chemical or analytical method developments in any setting. My approach tends to be extremely practical and efficient. I have a full determination to get the job done on time and I am a quick learner. This is evident by the fact that I received professional excellence award three times from bureau of laboratories. Maintaining all the records related to standards preparation and analysis using LIMS. I have several years of experience in sample preparation and analysis based on EPA 8321A (LC/MS/MS, LC/UV/Fluorescence) and 625, 8270D (GC/MS) for pesticides and herbicides in water, sediment and tissues. I also review all the data generated by GC/MS or LC/MS/MS according to the department sop's to meet client and government regulations and thereby authorize the results. I am also assisting chemists and technicians in lab operations, troubleshooting and maintaining all the analytical instruments. I was involved in the multi step synthesis, which are key intermediates for the synthesis of various commercially important agrochemicals, custom chemical synthesis and new molecules synthesis for agrochemical screening. Our laboratory is one of the six in country, selected by Home Land Security for the analysis of Chemical Warfare Agent (CWA) using GC/MS and GC-MS-TOF.
