RssGeneral Manager, Head of Human Resources, and Head Salesman for 3 year 4 months. I was also the computer guy and answered the phone up front ; even though it was below my station, I did it to make sure the customers got the most polite and well answered q

My goal is to make money, and never have so much stress that you have health problems worrying over work and money! I say this because I have a father who started a decently lucrative bulk mail business, but its the most stressful job (like most small owned business are)when it comes to getting paid. Just last week we had over $75,000 in invoices out and no checks were coming in for these advertisement jobs we were doing for other small businesses that that don't pay when they are supposed to. He is having heart problems because of that and how business can run all day every day i advertisement, but then just stop for a week or two, and with no work there's no income and you have to pay the federal and state government every month and more with payroll every Friday hanging over your head. It's no way to live. There are too many ups and downs. I'm working my butt off already at 24 years old and tarting to save serious money just in case. I will work as hard as anyone can work, during working hours, and make sure I work may up to a steady big regular check that I receive like clockwork so i never stay up all night because i have had a bad week of business and I don't know if I can pay my loyal employees who worked 11 days for 5 days this week. No sir, i am either going to be comfortably happy with a big regular bankroll as an important asset to a company or work my way up to the complete boss man and continue to work hard until I can finally retire comfortably and healthy and never lose a second of sleep or have chest pains because of anxiety all the time. I have and still do see it first hand all the time to someone close to me and it breaks my heart every time and I swore the first time I witnessed it, that it was it was time to first take the load off him with my 20 something energy and absolutely time to lose the boy in me and become the man I decided I was supposed to be!. Since then we don't go over a day without a full days work, and the owner hasn't missed a payroll in 3 years out of my 3 years and 4 months of being being employed there. We also weren't doing very good with outside sales. We had the same customers for about 6 months without expanding a single business. So I told the boss man to let me at least take a shot at some road sales. They were all business in Macon and surrounding counties. Within a month we had 7 new companies accumulating thousands of more income for the business. I admit at first I could not make a sell if my life depended on it, but I kept at it and finally I walked into the hospital of all places and they were so relieved that they didn't have to sit there and insert and address thousands of envelopes with just three people. So I finally found my objective, find business h=that have more important things to do than to insert, seal stamp, and address envelopes for weeks at a time when they could pay us to do it in a day. These included all the local and surrounding high schools that didn't have the staff to prepare and send out all these advertisement pieces. Then banks, colleges, cox cable even, and the Georgia fair came to us with enormous jobs. This is when and where I learned that the real world isn't movies and fantasy and and that if you let it, it can tear your life apart. However, if you face and give it 100% everyday and don't give up until you get things working that you will never fail your loved ones, or disappoint your loyal employees, or have a premature heart attack! This was a huge moment in my life and helped me come to the objective that I will be comfortably fiscally stable for the rest of my life with hard old school grinding work and that things are serious now! By then I was becoming a finely tuned business man that the employees didn't look at a kid anymore, but started calling me sir at 22. However, even with that respect the on thing I lacked was that if I wanted to be the boss or as close as you can get to the boss one day that I needed to learn how to handle the employees better. I was so much younger than them that giving them orders felt weird. However, then I went back to my objective, anything and everything it takes to rise and be looked up to so I never snapped at them I just never asked the to do another job again, no matter how small or big, I told them to do it in a very business bosses tone! this irked them for about two weeks, but they got over it like I knew they would. This gave me another idea. There were always fights breaking out i the back. Both physically and verbally and work would literally stop for an hour no matter what me and the boss would do. We would have to sit back with them just glaring at each other not working hardly so they wouldn't go at each other. This is when my last epiphany came to me at this job. I volunteered t be head of Human Resources. I did it mainly to get them out of the back and stop causing distractions until we talked it over enough they cooled down and we would only lose their production at the end of the day instead of hours and hours of everybody's lost. However, every time it happened I would be upset and disappointed in the individuals, but in some small way realized h=that I kind of liked these talks because it taught me how to handle employees. I learned how and when to react with calmness and coolness and when they deserved a heavy dress down because the job we were working on is way more important than some adults acting like they are sixteen again. With these three titles I learned everything there is to know about how a business is supposed to work inside and how you can't just sit and wait for customers to walk in the front door because you will never get a new one. You have to suck it up and go get and sale your business because it is out there too have. I learned how to talk and handle employees that had been there 2o years longer than me and were 40 years older than me buy sucking it up and talking to them like their general manger should. I also found the biggest secret out to life I believe there is in business and that is that you can't sweat the small stuff and can never let a small problem with money or jobs, etc escalate into a big problem where you will lose money. Always be prepared and you will always go home happy with money in your pocket!
