Registered Nurse, Springfield, IL

My goal as a RN is to provide the unbiased care that every patient deserves to receive. I would like to get into a different specialty than I have had in my past that I feel will be much more fulfilling. My first choice would be Hospice. I know that I have a very strong pull toward that area of Nursing. I was my mother's Hospice nurse and ir was the hardest, but the best thing for us both. The other specialty would be the trauma/critical ICU. The other side of the ER?Trauma I suppose, but there again you don't always know what you are dealing with and these patients also deseve the best care they can get. I give my heart and soul to my work and my patients and I have thought a long while where I really want to work and why. The dying need to die with dignity and have an advocates voice to speak for them, if needed. Those in the ICU are typically unconscious and they need a voice and that voice comes from a caregiver with compassion, dedication and is strong willed. That is me.
