My skills are varied in IT. My last 10 years I have worked successfully as a COBOL maintenance programmer with no experience, took classes also, in .NET (ASP and VB.NET) but I left for another opportunity but found I didn't have enough experience. I was brought back on contract, with TXU/Capgemini and successfully supported vendor based applications, Web reporting internal application and a mainframe COBOL based application which was a major tool for their power plants. I did NOT program, working during my return under Capgemini, but knew the applications and worked with a team of developers in India for maintenance on these tools. Most of my background has been in mainframe operations and monitoring of batch cycles using various scheduling tools. Minor JCL fixes and restart for batch cycles, printing reports, and tape handling. I wish to go back to what I know best. I have close to 30 years in that part of IT but have not been working in operations or scheduling in over 10 years. Mainframe operations, as a Operator or scheduler.
