Ben de Jager is a Certified Professional Engineer (Prof. Cert Eng.) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (not registered in Canada) and is a Professional Project Manager (PMP) registered with the Project Management Institute. He completed his Master Certification in Project Management with the George Washington University School of Business. He worked in the mining industry for over 30 years and has spent most of this time in management and supervisory roles in the gold, chrome, manganese, iron ore, copper, zinc and potash industries. Ben operated as Mine Manager, Area Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, Engineering and Completions Manager, Production Manager, production Engineer, etc. Ben operated as a Mine manager and also as a Project Director and a Project Leader responsible for up to 5 projects at a time. From his many years of experience, Ben has developed strong technical, managerial, and communication skills. He was the lead manager on several projects and operations where he was consistently recognized for excision of multi-million dollar project successful throughout the full project lifecycle from concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility, detail design, excision/construction to closure. Ben has worked on projects at surface, underground, and in shafts and has experience in design, shafts, hoists, ventilation, mine maintenance, engineering and operations.
