RN Case Manager, Columbus OH. 10 of the 20 years experience in Case Management

My plans for the second phase of my Nursing Career is to further my education by becoming certified in case management. Case Management has become a part of who I am. When I focus on what I have accomplished throughout the 20 years that I have been a nurse, I always come back to my experience's as a Case Manager. I have the knowledge and experience of a Case Manager. There is one piece missing. My goals are to become certified in Case Management and to continue moving forward with my career. My family is raised and off to college and it is time for me to focus on my career. Nursing is my passion. Case Management has taught me to look at the whole picture. I assess the whole picture and build from there. There has never been any other part of my career that has brought me more satisfaction than when I see what can be accomplished with good assessments. Putting knowledge and resources together as well as providing individualized teaching to obtain a common goal being the best outcome for the client and family. Education is a key component on helping the client and family become independent and increase the clients quality of life as well as decrease the risks associated with chronic and acute illnesses. Education helps reduce fear and complications and provides a way for the client to take control of his/her life. Educating the family also reduces frustration for the family by giving them actual tools to help improve the outcome for the client. Working together with all team members, physicians, and all others involved with clients healthcare is an important role of the Case Manager. Communication as well as understanding the part that each plays in the recovery, stabilization of clients condition helps to accomplish a common goal for the client and family. Improving their quality of life as well as insuring the safest, most effective, and best quality of care for that client.
