I have been a roofer for the past 12 years, meeting with insurance adjusters regularly to explain to them what is wrong with the roof and why it needs to be repaired or replaced. As an adjuster, I feel that I would be of great benefit to an insurance company because of my experience and knowledge. I find that the majority of adjusters that I meet with now don't know anything about how a building or roof is constructed. They only seem to know what some book or computer program tells them, and needless to say, they are wrong 90% of the time. I find myself having to teach or explain to them how things are built and work. With me, things would get done on the first try and it would be right.
