Highlights:
Seventeen years ago, I began working for Nova Center, a private workshop for Mentally Retarded/Emotionally Disturbed adults. My Job was to teach our clients job skills, life skills, cooking, and socialization skills. My job was to keep records, and write IHP's for all clients under my charge. After working with MMR/ED adults for three years, I transferred to Nova School’s private Junior and Senior High School program for ED/MMR students. Over the past fourteen years, I have learned how to organize, multi-source, and much more. I was a lead teacher for several years where working wherever I was needed. I learned how to teach, deal with problems, be a mentor, and how to have a calming affect. I kept student records, created IEP's, and attended meetings. I have had countless training over the past, covering many subjects including mental health. When the teaching requirements for private schools raised, I became a Teachers Aide and assisted certified teachers. When the opportunity for Nova to have a library and a full-time librarian came along, I volunteered. I am building a student library and media-center from scratch. Where Nova students can check out books, watch a movie, listen to a story or have some quiet time. I am quite knowledgeable about how the school does things and I often offer to help a staff member who needs it. I am both honored and grateful that Nova has given me so many inspiring opportunities to learn and grow.Companies I like:
