CollapseDescription

Summary Analytically minded and highly motivated Maintenance Mechanic with over 20 years experience in maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and problem solving specific to conveyor-based systems in the food production industry. Conveyor-based experience includes: building conveyors from the ground up complete tear-down, crating and reassembly after relocation of conveyor lines ordering, installation and programming of motor inverters (controllers) shaft, gear and chain removal and replacement fabrication of brackets for various equipment installations guide rail adjustments to accommodate various product sizes installation and calibration of product diverters on multi-product size conveyor lines calibration of sensors (photoelectric, sonic among others) to detect various aspects of a product installation of in-line inspection equipment to conveyor systems. Additionally, have implemented a Preventative Maintenance System for all conveyors (greasing bearings, checking for wear strip dimensions to determine replacement schedules, etc.). Can lead in a team environment or accomplish projects independently to help keep plants running efficiently and safely. Able to self-manage multiple tasks under tight schedule constraints. Excellent related skills as Fabrication/Quality Assurance/R&D Technician possessing significant expertise with hand tools, test fixtures, measuring instruments and structural materials. Accomplishments Responsible for the development and construction of an experimental and Skills environmental chamber used for qualification testing of large industrial inspection equipment. This chamber was able to produce both humidity and temperature variations to match expected plant conditions. This required working closely with company engineers to ensure progress and allow for design refinements as development advanced. Developed a vacuum accumulation device to improve manifold performance for high-altitude applications on the OmniVision Inspection System. Installed AC and DC gear motors, programmed inverter drives and installed safety switches and breakers to the main power for a number of conveyor systems. Built the facility's compressed air system, which used a screw drive compressor, air dryer and accumulation tank, which included extensive plumbing. Later improved the system's efficiency using high-flow connectors and larger supply tubing. The system's performance improvement was significant. Skilled in the use of automated test equipment such as the oscilloscope, multi- meter, temperature sensors/meters and airflow meters. Able to produce test fixtures and devise methods for testing, repair and installation of end-user and in-house products. Assisted in the development of quality assurance protocols and programming for engineer and customer support. Proficient with a wide range of materials including UHMW, Nylatron, Teflon, PVC, polycarbonate, polyurethane, rubber, phenolic, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, silicon brass, copper, lead and cold rolled steel. Experience with precision optics and optical alignment for machine vision systems, as well as steered-beam laser systems. Extensive experience in metal fabrication, including the building of enclosures, fixtures, brackets, clamping, shielding, etc. Skilled with a wide variety of hand tools and machine shop tools including conventional mill, shear, press, brake, grinder, sander, drill press, band saw, chip saw, rivet gun, etc. Able to interpret engineering drawings of various styles including schematics. Good understanding of different dimension and tolerance techniques.
