Experienced Finish/Trim Capenter,Forman
I would like to continue my career in finish carpentry, the only job I ever loved. I have been considered by others I've worked with and for a "Master", but experience has always taught me that you can never know it all and not ever to good to learn something better or newer. Or for that fact easier than what your used to. There will always be unique problems to be solved in my line of work. I've always accepted the challenge no mater how impossible it may seem. I am a true Aquarian, I will try until there are no options left. There are too many framers out there trying to do finish work. I call them wood butchers. I have on occasion had to go repair or replace doors, crown and the like because people are in such a hurry to finish without doing it properly, glue, shim, etc. Of course if you go behind a poor framing job you can spend as much time adjusting than it would take you to the job straight through. I firmly believe that everyone should always think about the guys following you, as I do the painters. I make sure all my nails are set, corners are straight and all sanding is completed along with a clean work area left for them. Probably half my customers are referrals from painters that like to work behind me and I try to maintain a good working "team" relationship with.
