Wind Turbine Technician, Elgin Oregon
My name is Michael Morton and I have spent the last six months at Northwest Renewable Energy Institute. During those six months I learned 9 different skills to be the best wind turbine technician I can be, these skills include Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, programmable logic controls, Rigging, metal sciences, torque and tensioning, safety of the work place and practice safe climbing. I feel like my schooling and my past work experience will make me the best technician I can be. I have always worked with my hands in adverse weather conditions so I know what it’s like to work hard whether it’s hot or cold. I never had a problem working long hours and staying longer to finish projects or tasks that need to be finished. Some of my favorite activities include hunting, fishing, baseball, hiking, and camping.
