Predict the direct and indirect cost of work. Consider similar previous projects in preparing estimates as well as availability of services, material costs and quantities to be used, special equipment/machinery needed, and labor productivity and pay. Account for unforeseen or emergency expenses, overhead, and profitability goals. Work with architects to offset deficiencies, develop most accurate estimates, and when possible accelerate schedules. Communicate all business and technical aspects to the project manager and field staff. Develop and maintain database for history on project costs and adjustments; prepare model budgets and schedules. Monitor and correlate actual costs with models and make adjustments as necessary. Facilitate multidiscipline team meetings. Support field operations; suggest improvements to construction processes as needed to minimize risk of loss and maximize gain. Utilize estimating/tracking software to maximize accuracy and productivity. Demonstrate strong understanding of client’s goals.
