Supervisor ( Lead Mechanic) Supervisor for Fincantieri Marine Systems Bahrain. Under US Navy contract administered by NSSA RMC (GS-12 equivalent). I am involved in daily planning of all jobs being executed, responsible for directing, coordinating and accomplishing production efforts of 15 personnel. I ensure all periods of performance (POP) are met. I attend daily/ weekly production meetings with ships company, Project Managers, Surveyors, and other Government Representatives to coordinate production timelines and scheduling. I also stand in as GM position on a need basis. Attend and participate in all, ready to start (RTS) for Expanded Process Control (EPCP) and Process Control Procedures (PCP). Inputting technical advice to U.S. Government Rep. Assist in writing drafts for technical portions of contract specifications for various projects associated with marine engineering, defining project scopes and preparing engineering cost estimates for various engineering projects .I give technical direction in accordance with OEM QA Manual and TRS to personnel who writes the EPCP/PCP to ensure that procedures flows in the proper sequence in which jobs/repairs need to be conducted. Also ensuring that Government Checkpoints are located in the proper critical milestones throughout the disassembly, rebuild and operational testing .Respond to AWR and all other job that requires conducting ship check to determine scope of job. Advising the General Manager in the most efficient processes, methods, and procedures to assist in the decrees of lost time and money. Serve as quality assurance representative in meetings as well as consulting with personnel/contractors on quality related matters .Extensive experience with Main Propulsion and Ship Service Diesel Generators and attached sub systems. Experience range from clutches, purifiers, pumps, compressors complete engine overhauls, block change outs, engine modifications, engine alignments and the designing/ positioning of external piping .I work closely with Diesel Engine Inspectors (DEI) on different platforms and mostly sought for troubleshooting advice. Analyze advanced planning, scope of proposed projects, schedules, or commitments to make technical determinations or recommendations to management. Assign work to employees based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Collaborate with ship's contractors & government representatives in production progress meetings to ensure production schedules are met . Conduct inspections to expedite and verify satisfactory corrective action where deficiencies are found. Determine, plan, and schedule technical work required for all availabilities for assigned ships.
