Enviromental Safety and Health Manager

I was recently laid off by a Publicly Owned Company that has reduced is staff from 7500 employees down to 2300 in the last 18 months. While employed I held the title of Southeast Regional Safety Manager. I was recently laid off due to my Region being one of the hardest hit by the current state of the economy. I was able to maintain my employment because I held the #1 ranking for best Safety numbers 3 years in a row until the economy simply took too much of a toll on my Region to justify the Board of Directors from keeping me employed. I have 22 years of experience 15 of which have been strictly in the Field of Safety. I started out as a Division Safety Manager over our Miami Branch and within my first 18 months I became the Region Safety Manager covering 8 states. In this role, I reduced recordable rates by 50% in the first year, cut Workers Compensation by 70% and had zero Lost Time accidents during my entire employment with this company. I feel that my many years of experience working with and around many different crafts within the Construction, Industrial and Maritime trades has made me such a strong Safety Leader.
