Coming from a background that includes broad exposure to a number of industries as a consultative services contractor for technology issues or organization systems, ideally I would perform a number of functions in an organization that thrives in a changing environment, facing challenges that it recognizes it can best overcome through a “learning organization” approach. My particular vocational opportunities came about because of my earlier experience in the design and execution of motivation and recognition programs, combining design principles with manufacturing techniques. This multidisciplinary approach piqued my curiosity as to how individuals function in teams and groups. My direct responsibilities were usually structured as project-based tasks, so becoming a PMP and CSM validated my holistic perspective of organizations as systems, and small-group communication as the central framework that tied it together.
