Currently I work for the local school system, and everyday I have a chance to impact, not only the individual lives of the students I work with, but the future of these children and how they will relate to our world. I take personal responsibility on how my actions and words affect these kids. It is important that they know they can trust me with their issues. It's more than just a school life in which they live. These kids bring home life to school, too, and oft times it's not pretty. They need to know that I am a "safe haven", not to judge or condemn, but to help and relieve them of some of what they must go through every day.
With that being said, and to answer the question, my major responsibilities in my most recent position are the kids I work with daily, and the way I impact their individual lives and how they affect the world around them. It has been said that the flutter of a butterflies wings on one side of the world can cause a typhoon on the other side of the world.
