PhD Biochemist/Enzymologist

I am a PhD biochemist/enzymologist with over ten years of experience in genetic manipulation, cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, gene expression (E. coli and Mycobacterium smegmatis), protein purification and characterization, chromatography (hydrophobic, ionic exchange, size exclusion, affinity etc), enzyme kinetics, designing enzyme assays and studying enzyme mechanisms. I am a highly motivated researcher capable of working independently or as part of a team. My desire as a scientist is to improve global health through scientific research. I enjoy interacting with other enthusiastic scientists in a setting that will allow me to share and acquire knowledge that will aid in the progression of scientific research. In addition to developing my scientific career I have been involved in the training of graduate and undergraduate students as well as laboratory technicians who have in turn become independent researchers in the laboratory.
