MICHAEL NICHOLS mdnicholssr@aol.com 414-213-9350 (C) COVER LETTER It’s fortunate for me that I was called Kenosha Engine Plant 1995 as a newly commissioned officer later named Daimler Chrysler. I was initially in charge of calling back laid off union workers working with Industrial Engineers to install production assembly lines for several engine models; I worked as production assembly, all areas of machining and maintenance supervision all. I maintained safety, quality, cost, morale and delivery indicators at all times. Ensure that newly installed production facilities, equipment and end-product adhere to the company’s standards of quality. Insure special projects assigned by plant and area managers were complete. I facilitated priority training for unionized callbacks. Evaluate and initiate the additional staffing needs for effective allocation of resources to meet all shifts production goals. ISO9000 in effect at that time, FIFO, 5’s and continuous improvement training for everyone to include management. Responsible for implementing and filling out daily performance reports and shift paperwork with co-supervisors. All experiences as supervisor were similar effectively facilitating team meetings and group objectives. It was a pleasure to have been trained as part of this obvious successful dream experience in manufacturing supervision after my military duties off and on duties at ft Sill Oklahoma 1992-94 in the Military during Desert /Shield Storm later Operation Enduring Freedom. The Plant was then shut down. GM Delphi was also in the process of shutting down so I was first union employee as a janitor, cleaning the facility later became a contract maintenance supervisor with duties of disassembling the facility while insuring scheduled assignments were complete. Rexnord I was the 1st shift production supervisor with skilled machinist with well over 30 year’s seniority all. My duties were first to improve process (I ran mainly Kaizen projects as part of Continuous improvement to clean the dated facility machine presses), I ran 1st shift machining production of 1500 ton 2000 ton press operations for mining chain to include a unionized contract year shop. To my surprise that operation was discontinued and moved to Mexico during manufacturing downturn in Wisconsin. At Kangaroo Brands I was responsible for 3rd shift production. All maintenance training and machine setup, (PM’s) scheduled and non scheduled 3rd shift operations. My duties also included the installation of all equipment from dough mixers, proofer belts (patented by owner) to ovens, conveyers to mixers, tasting flavors for production of new product, Create a 3rd shift production assembly team (20-35 employees using a staffing agency with transportation for employees to Northwest Milw Wi ), Sanitation crew, QA dept, most maintenance was done by self and select team members, create work instructions for employees, cross training, purchase and installation of Viking Baggers, bagging date stamping product. We then palletized (pita chips) for distribution to dock as directed by production manager and owners. Pfister Hotel –I worked initially as a security associate pt later to FT. Looking for a salaried position , I then applied as the Executive Steward supporting the Executive Chef for 5 restaurants throughout the hotel, banqueting events ongoing, special products. My Pfister Hotel experience was a learning curve nothing like manufacturing. I take responsibility for not investigating all that the job entailed. I agreed this position was not for me and was terminated. There was opportunity to work and maintain my position however I chose not to move forward. I learned from my mistakes. I am seeking a long term position with a manufacturing facility looking for a humble team member like myself.
