Clerical work: Skilled in typing, scheduling patients using a computerized appointment booking system (ALTA, CHCS), taught others how to use schedule system. Screen incoming mail and publications and provide to proper personel. Refer questions concerning patients conditions to appropriate staff. Answer phones, gather faxes and compile scanned documents/emails to forward to all nessecary associates. Load CDs of images and reports from patients into DFAS systems to be viewed and added to patient files. Knowledge in various and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other documents. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, ALTA and CHCS) Patient care: Ensures patient flow is optimized by screening and checking in patients. Complete appropriate documentation on all patients treated. Observes soldiers to ensure treatments are not causing additional distress. Performs a range of treatment procedures for soldiers; uses auxiliary equipment to treat soldiers using hot and cold packs; change sterile dressings, oxygen, suction, respirator. Help and instruct soldiers on the specialized equipment, the set-up and purpose of treatment. Observing soldiers for subtle changes in the patient’s condition such as slight perspiration or slight rise in temperature, and reporting finding to the RN or provider. Filing reports and other correspondence/documents obtained from the nurse case managers and other facilities for Charlie Company Providers. Currently maintain and order medical supplies through DMLSS/CAIM weekly for the clinic. Responsible for maintenance of frequently track profiles between doctors, case managers, and patients. Arranged and continually monitor the Hazardous Chemical Inventory List, review to manage the material safety data sheets book. Know the proper storage, use, labeling, first aid, PPE, disposal and exposure of all the chemicals used in clinic. Head the hygiene program to conduct periodic surveys of employees occupationally exposed to health hazards. Ensure a continuous interchange of information, and prepare regulations and installation policy guidance pertaining to the safety and health program. Duties include planning, coordinating and conducting evaluations of work operations, and work processes, which potentially have chemical, physical or biological hazards; analyzes and evaluates findings, and recommends appropriate controls. Current on all Basic Cardiac Life Support skills.
