I have earned a Master of Law at Touro Law Center and I was been on the Deans List and earned a CALI Award for Academic Excellence for having the highest grade in my Civil Procedure class. I have received my degree in December and intend to sit for the New York State Bar Examination. While my interest in law is diverse, I am particularly drawn to litigation. After receiving my Bachelor of Law Degree in 1991 in Egypt, I practiced law as an associate and then as a partner until 1999. My responsibilities involved significant litigation work and included representing clients, both individuals and institutions, in tort, criminal, contract, and other cases, as well as representing clients in matrimonial and trust and estate matters. . My three most recent experiences in the US have been as Legal intern with Arkadia non for Profit Corporation, and Judicial Intern with Honorable Judge Alamia (Criminal District Court, Suffolk County) and a legal internship with the Legal Aid society of Suffolk County, NY. These allowed me not only to experience firsthand the differences between the English and the Arabic Judicial System but to gain valuable insight from the judge on how he reaches his decisions and verdicts. I learned the differences between misdemeanor and felonies and how they are handled in the NY State System, the role of each person within the trial part courtroom and developed a rapport with court staff.
