SKILLS: I am a seasoned therapist with eighteen years' experience in different aspects of Respiratory Care, ranging from neonatal intensive care to home health/DME. The most important skill I possess is that I have the ability to relate to our patients and their families, as I have been both Respiratory Therapist and Patient Care Giver. Maintenance of the airway and mechanical ventilation settings in conjunction with the physicians and protocols. Work closely with the nursing staff to identify and treat patients who show sudden change in status. Delivery of aerosol medication, initiation, and maintenance of CPAP/BIPAP therapy, oxygen, and trash care. Obtain ABG'S and sputum specimens as ordered by the physician. Assist in testing and documentation for home therapies if needed. Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center May 2011 - January 2013 Duties: Setup and management of ventilators, assessment of critical patients requiring aerosol therapy, CPAP and BIPAP therapy. American HomePatient December 1999 - February 2004 Duties: Setup and management of home ventilators, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and CPAP/BIPAP devices. Education of patients and family members on respiratory equipment and troubleshooting. Performed evaluations for disease intervention and treatment if indicated. Overnight and ambulating pulse oximetry, along with evaluation for O2 conserving devices, apnea monitor setup, and education.
