Senior Piping Checker & Designer

Position checking the 3d models of other Piping Designers' and the piping drawings generated from them. This process catches the errors in the office where they can be fixed for a few dollars instead of letting them go to the field where they cost thousands of dollars to correct. This also insures that all the material and project specifications are adhered to, that the proper material and fittings, valves, flanges, control valves, strainers, etc. are ordered and the wrong ones that would have been ordered don't have to be sent back and new ones ordered in their place. My job is to ensure accuracy and compliancy and to save the project and the client from spending needless dollars on mistakes and omissions that could have been avoided. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment to help accomplish the goals of the project and makes me feel I have a meaningful contribution to make to the project.
