COBOL, MAINFRAME PROGRAMMER ANALYST DEVELOPER, JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA
I know there is a 4 year gap in my employment and I ask you to give my resume a second look and call me in for an interview I’m sure you will be surprised. I have kept my skills up and will be an asset to your company and not a liability. As a Mainframe Senior Programmer Analyst with 23 years of successful hands-on experience in all phases of software development, I have consistently achieved success in my career through attention to detail combined with analytical and organizational skills. I am a user-friendly, dedicated self-starter with a focus on customer satisfaction and a commitment to high work ethics and standards, and function well in a team or individual setting using my ability to prioritize objectives. Check me out on LinkedIn.com. I have experience in many software fields such as; 10 years of Banking-(Bank of America-First Florida), 6 years of Commercial Credit Card-(TSYS) processing and 8 years of contracting in (Communications-(GTEDS), Manufacturing-(Shaw Carpet), Health Insurance-(Blue Cross), Transportation-(CSX), Life Insurance-(Prudential), & Consumer Credit Card-(ATT) processing). My resume shows heavy batch, maintenance, enhancements, conversion, development, migration and testing projects. These projects included COBOL, COBOL II, CICS, MQ, DB2, VSAM and Sequential files, with extensive testing, documentation, production support, research, analysis and reports. At my last position for (TSYS)-Total System Services, I was nominated for programmer of the year 2004. The Jacksonville office closed November 06, 2006. Also, if you notice my last job lasted 6 1/2 years and my first job lasted 10 years. I would still be at either position if they had not sold the company or closed the office. I’m not a job hopper. I have studied to become certified MS SQL Server 2005 along with Access database, Crystal Reports and Word-level-2. If you pass me up because I haven't worked since my last position, you're missing someone who takes great pride in his work and I'm not there just to get a paycheck. Thank you for your consideration.
