Description
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE My training and professional experience spans academic research in molecular genetics and computational genomics to scientific and technical support for clients at a contract genomics organization (CGO). After graduate and postdoctoral training in cell and molecular biology, my interests broadened to include computational biology, genomics and technologies for genomics research. As Director of the Molecular Genetics Core Facility at Children's Hospital Boston from 2001 - 2007, I built a SNP data management and analysis pipeline for linkage/association studies. As Manager of the Computational Genomics Core at Tufts and then as Molecular/Computational Biologist at the Center for Cancer Systems Biology, my research focus was on applying R-based computational tools for genome-wide expression and epigenetic profiling and molecular pathway discovery and analysis. As Application Scientist in the Tumor Product development group at WuXiNextCODE Genomics, my responsibilities included providing NGS data analysis support and training for clients and creation of technical documentation for approximately 40 mid-high level statistical analysis queries. EXPERTISE: * Development and management of molecular genomics and computational genomics core facilities. * NGS-based DNA sequence variant analysis and interpretation. * Computational tools for genome-wide expression and epigenetic data analysis and interpretation. * Authoring technical documentation for internal (product developers) and external stake holders (clients) COMPUTATIONAL TOOLS: * Bioconductor packages in R programming language (limma & minfi) and PANDA (analysis of expression covariance) for genome-wide expression and epigenetic profiles. * Variant and gene-based association analysis. * Molecular pathway discovery/analysis (eg: IPA, GSEA, DAVID, Expression2Kinases). * Data visualization (eg: GenePattern, MeV, CytoScape, String).
