Edward P. Rice P.O. Box 464 768 Naples Road Harrison, ME 04040 Phone: (508) 935-5252 Email: edrice464@roadrunner.com OBJECTIVE A position responsible for communicating strategies and information to sales teams and presenting customer needs to the appropriate department to create positive vendor relations and improve the sales process. PROFESSIONAL PROFILE I am a self taught, experienced business leader who uses a wide variety of skills to address a multitude of operational situations in today’s challenging and constantly changing business world. I possess the ability to: Identify a company’s marketing advantages in a difficult economy; Promote and adhere to company policies and values to instill the highest standards; Develop a customer base that is essential to strong growth and compatibility with today’s profit needs; Direct and manage the necessary strategies that are mandatory for the success of a business. A company needs strong leaders who are not afraid to meet challenges and make the necessary decisions to turn them into achievable goals. I am capable of meeting such challenges and will over come them successfully. SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENT Organized and controlled the initial incorporation of a small business and all that was necessary to begin its existence. By doing this, established all initial relationships with banks, vendors and customers. Communicated the financing requirements needed to start a business and make it successful from the beginning and into the future. Developed a stable base and created the next steps for the new venture. Effectively communicated and organized a realistic financial plan that the bank would agree to finance. These business strategies promoted the successful start up of the business, and meet the bank’s long-term needs. Established and coordinated realistic vendor credit by communicating a relationship of trust that justified the vendors’ involvement with the start up of the business. Provided them with the necessary financial information to persuade them to offer extended term, delayed payments, and other ways of allowing the company to create a cash flow. By honoring the terms and meeting the payment schedules, the company’s cash flow created credit lines and allowed us to meet other financial obligations. Researched, identified and sourced the necessary equipment to properly achieve the quality of craftsmanship that would distinguish our product from the competition’s in the customer’s eyes. Organized and evaluated through multiple meetings and tours with vendors the equipment necessary to make this happen. Successfully purchased and financed through banks and lending organizations equipment that would jump-start the launch of the new business. Established a customer base with targeted businesses by effectively communicating the steps we were taking to produce quality products. Created plant tours that highlighted our state-of-the-art equipment, compiling printed samples of the company’s best products and trained the staff to project an atmosphere of professionalism and that we were the problem solvers. Convinced our customers that we were creating an organization that would be in existence for a long time and at the same time, keep them within their budget without sacrificing quality. Established a trust between customer and the company that we would produce a quality product at a reasonable price in a timely fashion. Provided this service by purchasing and installing state of the art equipment that made financial sense with level of service expected and the monies available through personally investment and SBA loans. Established SBA loans after many meetings evaluating and analyzing company income projections and budgets. After securing financing, began to build the company from the ground up and hired the employees necessary to meet projected end results which was to successfully produce a quality item and achieve profitability. Hired, trained, and managed up to 23 employees. Some of these employees were people who trained us to use the equipment that was purchased for the business. The result of this decision to hire these employees reassured the lenders that I had invested in the best people in the trade. I was confident that through proper management, the employees would give me their best. Was able to produce products that would generate sufficient sales to pay down debt and provide a living for employees and myself.
