  • As government purchasing agent, constructed purchasing documents while ensuring sufficient funding, and finding sources of supply which meet the government criteria for various work sections on the Air Station. Established and negotiated with numerous suppliers in order to improve upon estimated shipping and delivery dates and obtain the best price possible to meet the necessary requirements of purchasing requests, resulting in the best value for the government. Meticulously screened all purchase requests and orders prior to completing purchases in order to ensure accordance with federal guidelines and policies. Implemented strict budgetary control over operational funding which totaled nearly $50,000 and $75,000 in Food Production Service equipment during FY06, resulting in 100% expenditures and equipment material condition. Provided administrative support, such as travel orders, pay and personnel matters, etc. throughout the department in support of over 110 military and civilian personnel. Created the Navy Training Program, ensuring that all training was performed in a manner that stimulated growth and advancement and was beneficial to both peers and subordinates. Effectively supervised and motivated 13 team members.

US Navy - USS Hawes

  • Interacted with various departments onboard the unit such as Engineering, Combat Systems, Operations, and Medical in order to requisition parts and services to meet requirements essential to mission accomplishment. As the Depot Level Repairable parts manager, made over 100 repairable item turn-ins, saving HAWES over $145,000, while maintaining 100% inventory of 702 line items totaling over $7.2 million. Implemented the Quality Deficiency/Supply Discrepancy Reporting Program and Shelf-Life Program for the entire shipboard repairable and consumable line item inventory. Once qualified by the Naval Occupational Safety and Health as Hazardous Material manager, ensured all safety measures were adhered to and that proper processing and handling of HAZMAT was complied with while responsible for the grooming of HAZMAT stowage and off-load, transfer, and minimization of over 70 line items. Maintained the Personnel Qualification Standards program, keeping Supply Department 100% qualified, as well as playing a key role in 8 personnel becoming “Surface Warfare Specialist” qualified. In addition to primary duties, assumed responsibilities as Custodian of Postal Effects for USS HAWES after two weeks of on-the-job training prior to deployment, processing over 137,000 lbs. of mail, while maintaining 100% accuracy on all monthly audits. Effectively supervised and was responsible for 4 other personnel.
