Manager

  • Following a four million dollar renovation of the Galvanizing facility, recruited by Lindsay in January 2006 to provided technical information concerning manufacturing and processing techniques, materials, properties, process advantages and limitations that affected long range plant and product engineering planning. .  Production increased, utilizing Lean practices, in 2006 by 21%. In 2007 increased additional 22%, and in 2008 production was doubled over 2005 volume, surpassing all renovation project projections.  Implemented Lean through Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Teams to eliminate waste in daily activities in angle production and galvanizing.  Collaborated with suppliers as a liaison to production facilities for implementation of Lean Initiatives.  Supervised and coordinated activities of four Supervisors, two Mechanical Engineers, a Quality Engineer and 250 hourly Associates.

9/2003 - 1/2006

A Plus Galvanizing

Manager

  •  Joined A-Plus, reorganizing and coaching the workforce to establish a positive safety, quality, delivery and cost foundation.  Trained and managed several line supervisors and created operational guidelines while implementing a safety culture resulting in yearly decreases of recordable accidents by 85%.  Directed and maintained daily plant operations to meet plant metrics and customer requirements.  Established ISO practices and was ISO 9001 certified in eight months.  Studied physical characteristics for manufacturing purposes to determine compliance with manufacturing specifications and standards.  Orchestrated plant Lean Steering Committee and identified Lean management opportunities.  Maintained positive employee relations through process improvements.

1/2000 - 10/2003

AAA Galvanizing

  •  Recruited by AAA to design the Hamilton Plant, a $4.7 million project, utilizing Lean manufacturing flow techniques. Acted as liaison between on-site construction managers, equipment builders and owners.  Developed and wrote equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analyses and proposal for integrating equipment, such as automation, controllers and programmable controllers into manufacturing process.  Developed and adapted company procedure manual detailing job descriptions, safety, training, preventative maintenance, chemical testing and process changes.  Established and executed recruiting process including candidate selection, interviewing and staffing of the full facility.
