CDs were manufactured, shipped to warehouse, then pulled and packed for distribution centers for shipment. Developed and implemented system where stock is transferred to multiple distribution centers direct from manufacturing, eliminating a step. Led cross-functional team improving customer back orders, giving better service to Sony customers. Sony division was missing release dates. Initiated bi-weekly conference calls and published weekly schedule of releases. Identified delayed components, non-conforming issues, and misunderstandings, facilitating release dates. Integrated operating systems, doubling revenue and reducing back orders by 15%. Back order and late delivery caused missed deadlines. Converted all Sony music to new product numbering system and assigned appropriate attributes, streamlining royalties processing.
