Responsibilities
Two dominant areas of responsibility in my current position include: work as a Crew Chief on field science teams that study migratory fish populations, avian populations as well as some surveys that focus on physical aspects such as TSS and water quality studies. It is my job to ensure that the highest standards of data collection are maintained in sub-optimal and variable conditions encountered in the field.
A second area of responsibility in my current position includes working as the Health & Safety Coordinator for our company's NY offices. This job is both logistically challenging- keeping track of ~450 employees trainng needs and certifications, as well as providing the opportunity for me to teach and work with field crews to maintain safe work environments for all involves on a given site. My responsibilities in this department extend to writing and reviewing company wide Health & Safety Procedures ensuring that they provide useable guidelines for our people in the field, compy with all of the requisite industry standards (OSHA, NIOSH, etc.) and don't "tie our hands" with regard to methodologies.
