Accomplishments
Highlights:
I took a giant leap of faith in 1999, when I quit medicine to spend more time with my five sons, and pursued a career as a freelance writer and surface designer/collage artist. I have never looked back, and despite a severe salary cut, I am very happy with the modest life I've created for myself and my children.Companies I like:
Somerset Studios, Stampington, Hampton Brown, More Than Scraps For Me, Jamie Bishton, Red Eye Blind

Responsibilities
I have been self employed in the arts for eight years, but prior to that, I was on the teaching staff at a University of California at San Francisco family medicine residency training program. I was in charge of the HIV and gynecology curriculums, and trained family physicians in colposcopy, vasectomy and "bedside manner." As a physician, I was somewhat of an anomaly, in that my undergraduate training in literature and languages left me more inclined toward the art of medicine than the science. My strength as a trainer of future physicians was in fostering a sense of humanity, humility and spiritual awareness in the medical students and residents under my tutelage.
