Highlights:

Work Experience 1998-Present Responsibilities include the following: providing overall leadership to agency operation; planning, developing and implementing programs policy and procedure; developing and maintaining business, church and community relationships; assisting in developing, reviewing, and approving of grants and contracts. Other responsibilities include supervising executive staff, mediation, supervising the agency’s fiscal activities, monitoring and evaluating agency progress. As President/CEO I updated and implemented and received approval for the agency’s personnel policies, reviewed and revised job titles, descriptions and the organizational structure. The agency moved from a bi-monthly pay period to an every two week pay period. Wesley House implemented an automatic deposit pay system. Staff tuition assistance was established. Employee giving was implemented and 94% of staff agreed to give a percentage of their income back to Wesley House Community Services in support of its programs. Wesley House began a wage and benefits survey that was distributed to (9) agencies. Child Development Staff were raised from $5.75 to $6.75 per hour. Opportunities for child development training were increased. As President/CEO I maximized community resources and implemented plans that enhanced the agency’s social services programs by partnering with colleges, universities and high schools. Under my leadership, Wesley House Community Services approved a new vision statement and logo. I also spearheaded and implemented the sale of the old Wesley House Community Services building and formed a partnership with a dwindling Church which agreed to house Wesley House’s existing programs for $1.00 a month. As President/CEO of Wesley House Community Services I implemented a Threat Assessment Procedure for Wesley House Community Services. The Threat Assessment Procedures outlines a process for employees and constituents to access Domestic Violence assistance. I served as President of the United Neighborhood Alliance Louisville and being a National presenter on the topic “Settlement Houses/Working with Victims of Family and Domestic Violence”. I also developed an “Interdisciplinary Approach to Training Professionals in Family Domestic Violence and Abuse which was certified by the Kentucky Governor’s Council on Family Domestic Violence and Abuse. Responsibilities include representing the General Board of Global Ministries on various committees and facilitating a New Executive Director’s training for new Chief Executive Officers, planning the content of the agenda for a National Quadrennial conference and being chosen as workshop presenter on the topic of “Family Domestic Violence and Abuse”. I also represented Wesley House as a presenter at the National Black Family Conference on the topic, “Family Domestic Violence and Abuse and Its Impact on Families and Social Service Delivery”. 1992-Present Campbell Mapp Therapy Services, Louisville, KY Provides counseling to families and victims of family domestic violence and abuse, facilitated support groups, provided counseling and crisis intervention support, mediation and feedback for clients experiencing social/economic or personal issues relating to family domestic violence and abuse. I also initiated and spearheaded the incorporation of Louisville Clothesline Project to bring the community’s attention to problems created by abuse; developed and taught interdisciplinary training for State mandatory continuing education in Family and Domestic Violence; facilitated training for licensed nurses. 1988-1996 Director, Heverin House, Louisville, KY Responsibilities included directing, implementing and managing a transitional housing program for families experiencing homelessness. This included establishing and maintaining linkages with other community organizations and service providers, developing and maintaining a schedule for group training, selecting participants for the program through interviews; fund raising, grant writing, public speaking, contract negotiations, completing required City, State and Federal reports, planning, developing and implementing follow-up programs and procedure, teaching, group facilitation and counseling. Assisted in the development of Quality Assurance standards for the Louisville Coalition for the Homeless, which improved the quality of services provided to participants experiencing homelessness. Also assisted in the development of the Continuum of Care Plan for the City of Louisville, served on the Health Care Issues Committee for Judge David Armstrong and served on the Human Policy Committee for Mayor Jerry Abramson. Supervised a Social Work student for the Louisville Coalition for the Homeless, whose responsibility was the development of a case management curricula and training for homeless shelter staff. Raised over $300,000 for programming and support staff. Represented program as a presenter at the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference held in Anaheim, CA. Provided technical assistance and program development for outside transitional housing providers in structuring on-site social service programs. Worked as co-chair of the Homeless Children’s Committee, which worked to support and empowers homeless families to reduce the negative impact of homelessness on children. Consultant/Technical Assistance - Responsibilities included providing assistance with the development and implementation of transitional housing programs, social services and educational programs locally and nationally. Included with this experience was participation in the National Fannie Mae Round Table discussion on policies affecting services to the homeless held in Washington, DC, presentations at numerous conferences and seminars including the Women’s Mental Health and Alcohol Conference held in Clearwater Beach, FL teaching the dynamics of family domestic violence and abuse and the International Parent to Parent Conference held in Columbus, Ohio presenting on issues pertaining to the dynamics, intervention, prevention and assessment of family and domestic violence on the community.
