Highlights:
I was able to assist in an auto financing transaction that helped a 5+ year customer finance a used Porsche at 8.5% APR, when all local banks would offer 12% or higher. Her appreciation, and "word of mouth" led to several additional households taking their insurance with us._________I assisted in identifying a potential insurance fraud case. My records were turned over to FBI at the request of our Branch Claims Mgr. The individual withdrew his claim. On a later date, at a business lunch, my boss heard that the same individual had submitted an application with their company & made a similar claim. That company paid out more than $100,000, due to inaccurate record keeping of their agency CSR. ______________In another case, I disagreed with my bosses decision to accept (property application) on an "ineligible" piece of business simply because the applicant was "residing with" a long-time customer of our agency. Although it was against my better judgment, I did as instructed & presented the risk to UW, pointing out all the "red flags" & endorsing the final policy accordingly. I asked my boss (the agent) if he was sure he wanted to do this & nervously insisted, "I do not feel good about this one." Unfortunately for him, I was right. No sooner was the policy delivered in the mail, when the abandoned building burned to the ground. For some reason, he "set aside" everything he taught me about underwriting a policy. It affected his profitability bonus that year.
Companies I like:
Farmers Insurance, State Farm Insurance, Safeco Insurance, Foremost Insurance.
I was able to pass along some of my 20+ years experience in financial responsibility auto insurance to my boss, who only had 4 years experience. I believe "The more we teach, the more we learn." I love teaching people new things.
