Which covers first and 2nd shifts. Duties include scheduling of assembly department from master schedule to then pull through the rest of the shop materials needed to build the final assembly parts. Responsible for continuous improvement projects and cost reductions. Currently working on raising throughput and lowering costs, while also maintaining a safe and organized work place. The Lockformer Company Lisle, IL Product Manager to help in plant relocation (January 2006- August 2006) Product manager working for Mestek Corporation that owns Lockformer. Traveling between Cleveland and St.Louis as product manager to get the Lockformer machines now built in these plants up to quality standards and shipped on time. Set the build scheduled based upon order and capacity. Then push all the parts through to be able to build and ship on time. August 1985- present (November 2005) Production Supervisor, Sheet Metal, Weld, Paint (October 2001 to Present) The Lisle plant ceased manufacturing operations in November. I have been hired to work at both the Cleveland and St.Louis facilities as a product manager to help have the products that had been previously manufactured. Responsibilities at Lisle was for the sheet metal fabrication area and also the assembly area where we build plasma cutting machines along with the paint area. This is a 73,000 sq. foot union facility supervising up to 22 people on a daily basis and also covering 60 personnel plant wide on an as need basis. Implemented many cost savings to the department, for example over $5000.00 a year in paint savings and less hazardous waste. This was accomplished by spending $90.00 and implementing a new way we close and open the paint area. Working with subordinates to implement cost savings to the assemblies and also saving machine shop time to make parts with a savings of over $30,000.00 per year. Duties also include making sure the raw materials necessary to make the parts needed, along with the component parts needed to either assemble or weld are available. Scheduling the work load as far as what must be made first and what needs to be assembled to meet the shipping schedule and meet the monthly goals. Work first hand with the EHS person to ensure OSHA and company safety rules are followed along with being on the safety committee and also served for a time on the Quality improvement and cost savings committee. We have had numerous production and inventory systems, including Kan Ban, M2M, and EMS. Recently took over 40 hours of training on Made 2 Manage, which is a new MIS system that the company plans to implement in the future, after the move. Recently worked part time in the Purchasing department since the retirement of the purchasing manager. Previously responsible for the 2nd shift for 6-1/2 years, January 1995-October 2001, which included paint, welding, and machine shop personnel. Also supervised the assembly dept. for 6 months.
