I received my Ph D in Applied Electromagnetism, with minors in Mathematical Physics and Quantum Electronics, from the University of Southern California. I have been involved in teaching, consulting, and research pertaining to various fields of electrical engineering at different frequencies (i. e. from DC to optics). I would like to begin working at your company because it seems fit for me given your expectations. I would like to expand my knowledge and aid your company on its many commendable endeavors. Throughout my education and work experience as an electrical engineer I have demonstrated my ability to work as part of a team, while being innovative and authentic.
I have coauthored two books. One of these books is on industrial electronics and the other one is on Antenna Analysis and design. In addition to this, I have published and presented more than 100 papers in International Journals and International Symposiums. Most of these papers are on Mathematical Modeling of Applied Electromagnetic Problems (i.e. Millimeter Wave Image Converters, Antennas, Distributed Feedback Lasers, etc.). Six US patents were awarded to me while I was working at the Xerox Corporation (1998-2007). These patents are on Improving Image Quality of Printers & EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility). My last project at the Xerox Corporation had to do with EMC & Signal Integrity Engineering, in which high frequency effects that are usually neglected by Digital Designers come about in the picture. While working at Teradyne I was also involved in Signal Integrity & EMC applied to signal delivery.
In the field of EMC Antenna Effects, Transmission Line Effects & Microwave Effects play vital roles. My Ph D dissertation was on the study of microwave shadows induced by shaped reflectors and non monotonic surfaces. In my dissertation both edge induced and microwave induced shadows were taken into consideration. At that time my advisor was a consultant at JPL and JPL was interested in resolving this problem. Later, I applied these concepts to the study of unstable optical resonators, and managed to improve their performance and efficiency.
I am very interested in developing the different branches of electrical engineering which are utilized in your company and would like to join your company to pursue this as a career. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my education and experience would be consistent with your needs.
Sincerely,
Mohammad H. Rahnavard
