Omni Jacksonville Hotel, Omni Hotels and Resorts Sept. 2008 - Present Director of Engineering Responsible for the engineering, plant and security operations at this luxury 354 room property that comprises 16 floors. Led the engineering team through a Covid-19 closure and re-opening that included training associates in new, heightened standards of sanitation and guest/associate safety. Oversaw an in depth PPP program in 2020 that involved completing a CARE (clean & repair everything) program for every guest room, public space and heart of the house, finishing within the assigned budget targets. Worked closely with EC and operations leaders to develop cohesive capital plans and execute two property renovations. Worked with the Director of Finance to reduce costs and to manage internal checkbooks. World Golf Village Renaissance Resort, St. Augustine, FL Jan. 2006 - Sept. 2008 Director of Engineering Oversaw the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste recycling and management. Monitors budgets and approves contracts. Selects and oversees contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. Set guidelines and manages contractors and their subs, tasked with overseeing facilities operations, managing facilities budgets, directing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies, managing risk, overseeing security, and conducting regular site inspections. Reports directly to the property General Manager and closely communicates to corporate management. Assures that the property is in full compliance with all City, State, Federal and corporate guidelines making sure that all scheduled testings, inspections and preventive maintenance to equipment are performed in a timely manner. Alameda County Building Maintenance Department, City of Oakland, CA 2004 - 2006 Buildings and Plant Maintenance Supervisor Responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep for 7 County of Alameda owned buildings which included the Glen Dyer Jail, City of Oakland Courthouse, City Morgue, Social Security building, County Health Department building, County Juvenile Probation Building and the 18 story City of Oakland Parking garage. Managed and led a team of 16 union trained engineers in maintaining each building's mechanical plant. Acted as a liaison between the County's Building Maintenance Department, the Sheriff's Office and County personnel. San Ramon Marriott Hotel, Bishop Ranch, San Ramon, California 1989 - 2004 Director of Engineering Began as the hotel's painter and was consecutively promoted to the position of Director. Oversaw facility renovation and reconfiguration, working hands on throughout the project. Directed the development and management of the strategic plan, engineering and the ongoing maintenance of all company properties to include electrical and HVAC systems, life safety systems, building exteriors, daily janitorial maintenance, grounds maintenance, and parking facilities. Negotiated partnerships with contractors responsible for providing facilities related services.
